Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve is a protected wilderness. These guidelines ensure your safety, the wellbeing of the wildlife, and the integrity of the ecosystem.
Arrive Early
Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled safari time. Late arrivals may forfeit the slot — government permits are time-bound.
Dress Appropriately
Wear neutral, earthy-toned clothing. Avoid bright colours, perfume, and strong deodorants as these can disturb wildlife.
Keep Quiet
Maintain silence inside the forest. Loud voices or sudden movements startle wildlife and reduce sighting opportunities.
No Flash Photography
Photography is encouraged but strictly without flash. Drones, stand-alone lights, and night-vision equipment are prohibited.
No Plastic
Strictly no plastic bags, bottles, or single-use plastic inside the reserve. Carry reusable containers.
Stay in the Vehicle
Stay seated in the vehicle at all times unless at a designated exit point. Never stand or lean over the vehicle sides.
Do Not Feed Wildlife
Do not feed or attempt to attract wildlife. Throwing food from the vehicle is a punishable offence.
Follow Your Naturalist
Follow all instructions given by your naturalist and forest guard. Their word is final inside the reserve.
Carry Valid ID
All visitors must carry valid government-issued ID. Children below 5 years enter free but must be listed on the permit.
Important: All forest entry permits are issued by the Corbett Tiger Reserve authority. Availability is subject to daily limits set by the government. Safari permit booking starts 45 days in advance so please plan your safaris accordingly.

November to June is ideal for wildlife sightings. The dry season (March–June) offers the highest tiger sighting probability near waterholes. November–February is cooler and excellent for birdwatching. July–September is the monsoon season when most zones remain closed.
Morning safaris start at 6:00–6:30 AM and return by 9:30–10:00 AM. Afternoon/evening safaris begin at 1:30–2:00 PM and return before sunset (5:00–5:30 PM). Exact timings vary by zone and season — our team will confirm your slot at booking.

Children of all ages are welcome on Canter Safaris. Jeep Safaris are recommended for children 5 years and above. We encourage parents to ensure young children remain quiet during the safari to not disturb the wildlife.
We provide binoculars and wildlife guidebooks. We recommend neutral-coloured clothing, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, comfortable closed shoes, and a light jacket for early mornings. Cameras are allowed without flash. No food or plastic packaging is permitted inside the reserve.
While Jim Corbett has one of India's highest tiger densities, sightings are never guaranteed — this is a wild habitat. Our expert naturalists know the best corridors and waterholes, and our 500+ guided safaris have yielded excellent sighting rates. Every safari is exceptional in its own way.
Cancellations 72+ hours before the safari attract no charge. Within 48–72 hours, 25% of the booking value applies. Within 24 hours, 50% applies. Government permit fees are non-refundable once issued.
